Fashion, being one of the highly used words in our world, serves even a larger purpose than just gossip. Most of us find vague meanings associated with this term, but we need to understand that it is not so difficult to understand this. Fashion is not only what you wear and how you wear it. It is a broader expression that includes the headings of clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and even lifestyle. It depicts that fashion serves us all a larger purpose than just being there for us in our closets. These headings and all these ideas help us in identifying who we are irrespective of all creed, colour, and culture. They join us through a collective effort of making a community and appreciating the concept of beauty and love while being a part of it. It is a way to recognize the individuality of every human.  It helps us to love every person despite their cultural and social differences. 

The ideas that lie in the subconscious of a human mind are portrayed in front of the whole world using different pathways. The most reliable way to show your thoughts is to wear them to make up your personality. Fashion is a medium that allows us to do this. It can help convey a hidden feeling, portray a new idea, or even help us interact with others without using the verbal tool. Most of us expected to dress to impress wearing a Pakistani bridal wear. Also, when we are doing that, we do not do that wholly for the people we are showing ourselves too. We are showing a part of ourselves that we want the rest of the people to adore. It is the most effective non-verbal form of communication we know. 

Why is this communication so important? The reason is that we are all individual beings and, we cannot survive in the world without some kind of identity. This identity defines who you are. Then comes the part where you start to recognize yourself with the people of your own culture. You dress up the same, speak the same language, and also tend to behave similarly. It is where you are most comfortable. You exist in your bubble of life. Your needs for identifying yourself with the world does not end here. You move to the broader heading of culture. It is when you want to embrace “All nations” and their style. You start adopting the popular style icons in the world. It is also where capitalism comes into play. The concept of West and The Rest comes into action where the rest follows how the west takes them. It applies to fashion trends also. But this is also where cultures start forming. We go out, meet with new people, and identify them concerning their specific cultural trends. If we find something worth trying, we induce some of their ideas into our own lives. Then we have society. Not only the society we live in but also the community in a general world view where you will find all sorts of people working together. Cultural and social differences are set apart. You will find Asians being friends with the people of the west. The people of Africa attending parties of their eastern friends in their formal clothing. It is how we know fashion occupies a big part of our lives and, we cannot separate it from our lives. 

There have also been different courses regarding fashion studies in many educational institutes all over the world. And students are very keen to take part in them both as major and minor. It is where they learn how fashion and clothing are related to culture and can help define the identity of a group. They study the power and status dynamics that affect the fashion industry and fashion trends. The cultural fashion market works as a political medium.  It not only gives them the education and awareness that they want but shall also provide us with future fashion designers and artists. Hence, each of us on separate grounds needs to realize that choosing the right things for the making of your personality is as much important as choosing a balanced diet. It keeps you healthy, happy, and also provides a source of enjoyment for the body and the soul.
